¿Por qué Laurence Olivier regresaba tan a menudo al Othello de Shakespeare? ¿Por qué Ansel Adams siguió fotografiando el Gran Cañón? Obsesionados o asombrados, los artistas vuelven a inspirarse porque creen que hay otra historia que contar: sobre la vida, sobre ellos mismos.
El mes pasado recibí una llamada de mi buen amigo Ian Mack en la que me dijo que él y su pareja Andrea (fundadora de sailor coffee) vendrían a Madrid por negocios y que tendrían unas horas libres para poder vernos.
Ian es un gran abogado en Nueva York (odiaría que yo diga eso, pero es cierto) y trabaja 12 horas al día casi todos los días del año. Por ello tener la oportunidad de verlo es muy importante para mí.
Sara y yo dejamos todo sin más y nos fuimos sin pensarlo a Madrid.
Fue épico visitar el Museo Nacional del Prado, teniendo la oportunidad de ver obras de arte que recuerdo de mis libros de texto en la escuela secundaria. Caminando por esa galería no pude evitar sentirme inspirado por muchas de estas obras de arte. “¡Imagina crear algo que dure 200, 300 o incluso 500 años!
Lo que aprendí sobre el arte, negocios y la vida en general es lo siguiente. Es posible que las cosas verdaderamente grandiosas no se entiendan en su tiempo, pero en los años siguientes las personas adquieren perspectiva y las entienden un poco mejor. Ocurre lo mismo si pones un objeto súper cerca de tu ojo. Tienes que moverlo hacia atrás para apreciar realmente lo que es. La perspectiva es muy importante para ver las cosas con claridad.
Cuando la gente deja de entrenar con nosotros por cualquier razón, siempre les doy un abrazo y les doy las gracias, y menciono que la puerta siempre está abierta.
Es posible que esa persona necesite obtener una perspectiva de lo que somos, o de cualquier otro problema importante en su vida.
Espero que la fuerza de Oviedo / Garaje sea una constante. Algo de lo que la gente siempre pueda depender.
Si necesitas un equipo a las 7 am los lunes por la mañana, estamos aquí. También estaremos aquí un jueves a las 20:30, con los brazos y el corazón abiertos.
El equipo siempre es lo primero. Pero puede ocurrir que el equipo a veces necesite respirar. Lo apreciamos y lo respetamos.

Last month I got a call from my good friend Ian Mack that he and his partner Andrea ( founder of sailor coffee ) were coming to Madrid on business and he would have a few hours spare if I was able to catch up with him.
Ian is a big shot lawyer in New York ( he would hate me saying that but its true) he works 12 hour days almost every day of the year.
So the opportunity to see him is a huge deal for me.
Sara and I more or less dropped everything and headed straight up to Madrid.
It was a epic time visiting Museo Nacional del Prado, getting the opportunity to see art works that I remember from my text books in high school. Walking around that gallery I couldn’t help but be inspired by so many of these Artworks. “ imagine creating something that lasts 200, 300 even 500 years!
What I have learnt about ART, Business Life in general. Truly great things might not be understood in their time but in the years that follow people gain perspective and understand them a little bit better. No different to if you put an object super close to your eye. You have to move it back to truly appreciate what that thing is. Perspective is super important to see things clearly.
When people stop training with us for whatever reason I always give them a hug and say a big thank you and mention the door is always open.
For that person, might need to gain perspective on what we are or some other major issue in their life.
I hope Oviedo / Garaje strength is a constant. Something people can always depend on.
If you need a team at 7am on a Monday morning we are here. 20.30 on a Thursday we will be here with open arms and a open heart.
The team always comes first. But sometimes the team needs to breath and we appreciate and respect that.
