«Cada ciudad tiene un personaje» esto ha estado rondando mi cabeza este mes, desde que empecé a pensar en cómo me definiría la gente. La primera vez que oí esa expresión fue cuando Logan estuvo en España con el Seminario de Hold the Standard. Una de las pasiones de Logan es el café, pero no el café simplemente, sino la cultura que se crea alrededor de éste. Hipsters, artistas y personas de pensamiento profundo, que miran la arquitectura de la vida desde otra perspectiva. Buscan una comunidad donde poder explorar estos tópicos y rodearse de ellos. Lo cierto es que no importa lo pequeña que sea la ciudad seguro que hay un lugar cómo el que hablo. En Oviedo ese sitio es el Café Paraíso, y el hombre detrás de la barra, Jesús Colino Santos. Todo el mundo pensaba que estaba loco cuando puso en marcha su concepto. Después de unos años difíciles el Café Paraíso es conocido socialmente como «cool». La gente necesita entender que este hombre es un pionero, crear algo que no existía anteriormente en una ciudad tradicional requiere mucho valor. Necesitas pedir a la gente que pague más dinero de lo que hacía antes y necesitas estar preparado para que el 95% de la gente no entienda o no le interese lo que vendes. Pero esto es perfectamente normal. Jesús sólo pretende llegar a un 3% de la población como mucho. ¿Por Qué? Porque quiere ofrecer una experiencia única y si tiene que atender a mucha gente no podrá ofrecer el servicio que realmente quiere para sus clientes. To bring this full circle. Oviedo Strength is exactly the same. When people call up over the phone or send a instagram message I am doing my best to talk them out of coming to our community. That probably seems counterintuitive but I don’t just want anyone in our gym. I want people who will add value to our community and help cultivate a supportive environment. Esto me lleva a pensar en Oviedo Strength, ya que funcionamos de forma similar. Algunas veces recibo llamadas o mensajes directos en redes sociales que tengo que rechazar, puede sonar contraproducente pero yo no quiero a cualquier persona en nuestro gimnasio. Me interesan las personas que añadirán valores a nuestra comunidad y que ayudarán a crear un entorno de apoyo en ella. No tiene nada que ver con el potencial atlético que tenga, sino con el tipo de persona que sea. Preferimos esperar a la persona correcta que simplemente aceptar a cualquiera. Por esta razón cuando alguien llega nuevo nuestra «community» siempre ofrece su apoyo e intenta hacer todo lo posible por ayudarle a mejorar. Saben que si te unes a nosotros conseguirás estar mucho más sano y hacer amistades en el camino

“Every city has a guy”. These are the words that have rung in my head over the past month when I try and think of how people would define me in their words. I first herd these words when Logan was in Spain touring for the Hold The Standard Summit. One passion Logan has is Coffee, but not just Coffee but the culture that is surrounded by it. Hipsters , Artists and profound thinkers who look at the architecture of life from other angles look for a community where they can explore these topics or just be surrounded by it.
It’s true no matter how small the city at least one place like this. That place in Oviedo is Café Paraíso and the man behind it is Jesús Colino Santos . Everyone thought he was crazy when he had the concept. Fast forward a few hard years and now Cafe Paradiso socially accepted as cool.
What people need to understand is that this man is a true pioneer. To create something that doesn’t exist in a traditional city takes a lot of courage. You need to ask people to pay more money than they ever paid before. You need to be prepared for 95% of people to not understand or like what your selling. But that’s perfectly fine.Jesús is only looking for 3% of the population at best. Why? Because he wants to provide a deeply unique experience and if he has to cater for everyone he can’t create what he wants for his public.

It’s got zero to do with someone’s Athletic potential. It’s all about what type of person they are. We prefer to wait for the right person to enter than accept just anyone… and hope that they like our community. For this reason when someone start’s with us, Our Community are super supportive and will do everything they can to help you improve. They know If you start with us you will get a lot more healthier and make a lot of friends along the way.
